Sipho Sithole, founder of a leading record label, Native Rhythms Productions is an award winning producer and former Deputy Managing Director of Gallo Music Group. Many who now use the genre ‘Afro-Soul’ may not know that it was coined by none other than Sipho Sithole himself. Throughout his career, he has signed and produced many successful artists and is considered to be the first music executive to mainstream hip hop in South Africa.
In addition to his work in music he has also built a name for himself in the South African Television industry.
A founding member of Africa Music Forum, Sipho’s journey continues to communicate a message of not only local but international recognition and success. He has participated and presented papers in markets such as; South America, Indian Ocean Islands, West Africa, Porto Musical (Brazil) and Moshito (South Africa).
Sithole currently chairs the Moshito Board and is the Group Chief Strategy Officer at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) holds a BSc and MSc degree from the USA and England and is a PhD Candidate at the University of Witwatersrand.
