This year the show will host both national and international industry experts and thought leaders. That is not all, this year continues to create memorable life-changing experiences by giving two lucky talented business minds a chance to share the stage with esteemed speakers, with the ultimate take out of getting valuable business advise – a once in a life time experience.

If you are a DJ, Musician, Actor, Comedian, Singer, Dancer, Agent, Model or any business in the entertainment industry the #Talent2Business presentation competition is designed just for you.

#Talent2Business brings a unique opportunity to African talent and business talent. It’s a stage to sell your story!

What is #Talent2Business?

The objective is to equip winners with a personalised business coaching experience. This is designed to assist in advancing or growing their existing business and help turn their talent and or feasible ideas into business. Only two lucky entrants will be selected for this opportunity. Applicants will have to impress the selectors – Yvonee Chaka Chaka (award-winning singer, entrepreneur and humanitarian), Ashraf Jorhardien (Head of UJ Arts & Culture and international award-winning writer) and Bob Mabena (award-winning radio host and entrepreneur). Those who are interested must meet the following description of (1) Talent and (2) Business Talent (Please read criteria carefully in order to apply correctly):

Who should enter (criteria)?

  1. Talent
  • Above the age of 18
  • Have no existing or trading business
  • Have an idea to advance your talent into a business but don’t know where or how to begin
  • Perform within the following industries;
    • Radio
    • Television
    • Music
    • Dance
    • Theatre
    • Film and video
    • New Media
    • Other (performing art)
  1. Business Talent
  • Employ 0-49 staff (Macro-Small)
  • Employs 50-199 staff (Medium)
  • With a business turnover of not more than 5 million per annum
  • A registered business with Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)
  • The business must be trading within the following industries;
    • Radio,
    • Television
    • Music
    • Dance
    • Theatre
    • Film and video
    • New Media
    • Other (performing art)

What do you get out of the experience?

  • A once in a lifetime opportunity to share the stage with SEAexpo 2015 renowned speakers by presenting your business case to a SEAexpo audience.
    • Talent to present on the 04th September 2015.
    • Business talent to present on the 05th of September 2015.
  • Be evaluated and receive personalised feedback and coaching from business experts and representatives of business/enterprise development organisations. Our coaches include; Isha Edwards (USA) a top international marketing and communication expert, Pieter Jacobs (CEO: Arts and Culture Trust), Mhlanganisi Masoga (Director of creative industries: Small Business Development) and others.
